The olders abbreviation comes from Latin AC - “ante Christum” what mean exactly “before Christ” and we used analogical abbreviation B.C  meaning everything what happen before Christ. It we have before we need after as well - Latin AD - anno domini and english C.E - Common Era. This tags are used in Gregorian calendar. While i reading about it i learned that gregorian calendar introduced two changes to solve old problems with Julian calendar.

First one was solve problem of the old calendar. Second one we use to avoid delay in calendar. Julian calendar was delayed by one day every 128 years. To solve the problem mankind omid 10 days in calendar from 5 to 14 October 1582. It is 10 days closer to New Year’s Eve - isn’t it?

Second one was totally surprised for me. Every 4 years we have a leap year? Not if the year is division by 100 and the same time it is not division by 400. Did you know that? I’m not. It rule had been used on 1700, 1800 and 1900. Next one I won’t live, it will be in 2100. Our calendar still isn’t perfect. Even we add this two changes our calendar still could delay by 1 day every 3322 years. So it’s not bad. I can deal with it.

When I wonder about “Why the companies using acronyms” i can define a few reasons. Firstly we take a few companies whose are very good known on the whole world  like HP, IBM, IKEA, AT&T, JBL, DHL, H&M, YKK, ING Etc. Did someone could unwind this acronyms? I cannot even one. HP means Hewlett-Packard. I will remember this until evening like most of people. Acronyms, abbreviation, slogans, colors are more friendly to recognised for typical bread eater. Our brain works like that. People in marketing department know that and this is the main reason why so many companies are using shortcuts. Second reason company with acronym name sound better. It just cool. Admit it every man whose you ask on street.
